Founded in 2021, APLOS is a high-end apparel brand inspired by simplicity and aesthetics. Our aim is to provide quality, luxury clothing that is massively focused on being sustainable and ethical. The fashion industry has a huge contribution to the negative impact on our planet, and this needs to change for the future generations. We aim to provide top quality - not just in our clothes but in the lives of the people who make them.
The owner started the company because of his love and passion for style, fashion, and design. He noticed that there was a void in the industry and that something was missing in our wardrobes. He found that the apparel options that the fashion industry gave to us were all pretty much the same, and he wanted to do something different. That’s why he created APLOS, a high-end apparel brand combining quality with aesthetics. He believes less is truly more, and that simplicity has been fundamentally overshadowed.
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibers, backed by independent certifications of the entire textile supply chain. The aim of the standard is to define requirements to ensure organic status of textiles; from the harvesting of raw materials, environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing, through labeling that provides a credible assurance to the end consumer.
The GOTS Organic Certification is accepted in all major markets, giving certified goods the assurance of global adherence and standardization with their organic standards.
As a continuation of our commitment to sustainability and traceability, APLOS has completed the most comprehensive organic certification process in the industry. Our Comfort Hoodie and Comfort Sweats are 100% GOTS certified organic.
Fiber Production:
The GOTS certification means that products are made with organic materials under strict environmental and social conditions included in the certification.
Organic fiber production is not directly covered by the GOTS certification system, as GOTS itself does not set standards for organic fiber cultivation. Instead, the cultivation of organic fibers is under the scope of organic farming standards, many of them defined by national governments - such as the IFOAM Family of Standards.
Social & Environmental Criteria:
GOTS evaluates the processing and manufacturing of textiles on the basis of both, environmental and social criteria. This means assessing everything from the chemical inputs being used to the ethical treatment of workers. To become GOTS certified, it is mandatory to meet all of the criteria.
Quality clothing starts with the details. To ensure that every component of our garments are safe for human health, we have set our product standards to be OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified.
OEKO-TEX® is the world’s leading certification of textiles tested for harmful substances. Each garment component has been tested for harmful substances and declared safe; therefore aligned with our standard of quality at APLOS.
From the coating on the zippers to the print that is on the garment, every component goes through the testing process to ensure its safety. With everything that goes into producing garments, it is imperative that all apparel components are examined when going the extra step to give the consumer confidence and accreditation of quality. This ensures that no part of the garment is harmful to human or environmental health.
We are very proud to be both OEXO-TEX ceritfied and Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified, as both certifications provide high quality assurance in our products being safe and made with high standard practices. Being OEKO-TEX certified provides us and our customers with the knowledge that our products are not made with harmful clothing, meaning no harmful chemicals that could hurt the environment or the consumer can be traced in our products. Our GOTS certification also deals with the sustainability of our products, but instead ensures our products are 100% organic. This certification checks the entirety of our supply chain and ensures our products are built in a truly sustainable and organic manner from the farming process all the way to the final labeling stage. Both certifications are important when producing high quality garments and therefore are important for us to have and share with our customers.
